I have completed courses in financial, managerial, and cost accounting. I am currently taking night courses in intermediate accounting and computerized accounting. I am doing very well academically, but want to real-world experience.
I have a BA in liberal arts, and am currently in an accounting masters program. I used to work for my friends construction company doing bookkeeping work with Quickbooks (but nothing too advanced) for three years. However, I have been laid off and want to gain relevant accounting experience.
Do my qualifications meet the requirements for a decent paying bookkeeping role at least? I know most accounting positions require an accounting degree, but what about bookkeeping?
