Hi,

I would like to know whether Assistant Accountant and Assistant Management Accountant is basically the same position or whether Assistant Management Accountant is a more advanced role where you are expected to carry out more difficult tasks.

Thanks

It very much depends upon what type of company you are looking at joining. Assistant accountant and assistant management accountant can be very different roles. For example an assistant accountant may be looking at monthly finances - profit and loss, journal entries, balance sheet recs, trial balances etc while assistant management accountant may be focused on cost-vs budget variances, stock analysis, productivity etc. Assistant accountant on the other had could carry out a lot of accounts assistant such as purchase ledger and bank recs. It really depends upon the needs of a company.
