Hi,

I'm a part time employee with a company, while also selling on Amazon in my spare time. I'm now over the £1000 allowance and have to register for self-assessment to become a sole trader. However I am unsure how this works, do I select as being "self-employed" or "not self-employed" due to me also having a part time job?

You are both employed and self employed.

You need to inform HMRC that you are self employed by filing with them the Form CWF1.

You should also be aware that may pay too much in national insurance. I have attached a useful blog for your assistance on how to deal with this.
