Hi, I'm a new accounting student and I've been reading a little bit about career paths. From what I understand I'll probably wind up in auditing for a few years, find an industry I like, get good at it and then move into private accounting.
Seems reasonable, though of course you never know where life will take you. But I haven't been able to come across any descriptions about the kinds of industries an accountant is likely to find themselves in let alone what each one is like working in from an accountants perspective.
Anyone with experience able to give me the run-down on what sorts of industries I might be looking at, how they differ and what, if anything, I could be doing in school and work to explore those industries I'm interested and prepare for them?
