USA CPA Licence before going into public accounting

Hello,

I have about a year before I graduate with a BS in accounting and I am debating on what type of jobs to pursue around graduation time.

Upon graduation I'll be over 150 credits and plan on studying/taking the exam immediately after graduation. Listening to some people working in public about the hours that they work, I want to make sure I have the time to study for the test.

Would going towards industry jobs before passing the exam make it difficult to switch into public after passing?
