USA From IT Audit to Accounting

Wanted to know how to transition from going away from doing IT audits into accounting jobs. Started out as a financial analyst got into doing IT audits since it paid more but I want to go back to doing accounting. I'm finding out that recruiters and companies only see me doing IT audit and finding it hard to transition into an accounting role. Took parts of the CPA didn't pass so I'm not aggressive in passing the CPA now. Any advice on how I can get out of the IT audit shadow and into an accounting role.
