USA Required Accounting Policies for Small to Medium Companies

We are a new company small to medium in size and I was wondering if anyone knows where I could find a comprehensive list of required or recommended policies we should have?

Obtaining a canned list is of little to no value. Your company is in a SPECIFIC industry and has specific acctg practices that make your financials comparable to other companies in your industry. That's why folks who want to create an acctg policy manual take the time to develop their own acctg policies manual. If you really want to do so, start with interviewing your auditor to find what policies they believe you are (or should be) following. That's just for a quick start though. Else, if you just want to say "we've got an acctg policies manual" , yeah hit the internet and I'm sure you'll find something you can print and put on a shelf.
