USA Tax Refund from 2019 Still Not Received

Hello Everyone, I'm just wondering if anyone knows why an individual's tax return filed on time for tax year 2019, has not been issued a refund yet. This was for a person who passed away in late 2019. Does anyone know why there would be such a delay? Thanks...

I had to file my 2017 taxes this year before the deadline (May 17th) Due to some issues in the past, anyways, how long should it take to process Federal and state (AL)? I've heard from 3 weeks to up to 12, I know there isn't anyone on here with a definitive answer, but any guesses?

If you are not getting anywhere by calling IRS call the Taxpayer Advocate Office for help. IRS has been way behind processing refunds this year.
