I have been accounting for the past 20+ years as a non-accountant (i.e. not an officially qualified accountant but very proficient) for businesses I either own, or as an employee. Mainly in the finance industry and retail sectors. I am currently working for a start-up agricultural operation growing fruits and vegetables for wholesale sale as well as selling produce from 3rd parties on a wholesale basis and also with a few retail outlets.
I am looking for advice on setting everything up such as my chart of accounts, and the separation of wholesale and retail etc.
If anyone out there has experience of this particular sectors accounting methods etc. especially inventory management and accounting, I would sure appreciate the advice - FYI - I am using Sage 100 cloud.
