Hello everyone,

My name is Giancarlo Fajardo. I am about to finish my associates degree at my community college, and I will be pursuing a bachelors degree in accounting soon. I am curious to understand more about the field I am getting into, so I have come to this forum for guidance. For the accountants in this forum, I have a few questions:

What is your current job title/position and how long have you been in this role?
Describe your career and educational path.
What is a typical day like for you?
What skills, abilities, and personal attributes are essential to success in this field?
What qualifications does your organization look for in a new hire?
Where do you see the accounting industry going in the next five to ten years?
Do you have any advice for me as I pursue this pathway?

If I can get some feedback, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Here's what you need to become a complete and successful CPA:

a) Education and Training -
Getting adequate technical training and proficiency. This can be attained by relevant accounting education, experience, and industry knowledge.

b) Certifications and professional qualifications - Undertaking accounting certifications like CPA, CMA, etc., will provide you the extra push needed to establish and grow your career in accounting.

c) Learning and Competency - Remaining competent to market changes and recent developments in the field of accounting.
